The Perfect Christmas Chocolate Selection Box

hotel chocolat christmas selection The Perfect Christmas Chocolate Selection Box As a massive chocolate fan I have been looking for the perfect chocolate gift for Top 10 Christmas Gifts this year and I think I might have found it. Hotel Chocolat has become one of my favourite chocolate shops; not only is the chocolate always scrumptious but their presentation is always amazing too. The detail in all of their products makes them so much more appealing. Their advent calendars have to be some of the best on the market this year that will make the countdown to Christmas even more exciting than usual. Their Christmas wreaths are so decorative you might not even want to eat them, but don’t worry I’m sure you will manage! Even though Hotel Chocolat make quite sophisticated chocolates they have a great range for children too. Your child can have Christmas at Santa’s House, with a house full of mini chocolates, or they could visit Twinkle Toes Manor which is every girl’s dream. Now on to the perfect chocolate gift I mentioned, they have made a Christmas selection box that is full of little Christmassy treats. There is an intricately made milk chocolate Christmas tree, a mulled wine treat that really does take like mulled wine and even a gingerbread truffle. Opening the box is like opening a little taste of Christmas. I think that this would make a great gift for any member of your family, especially if they are a chocolate lover like me. If you can’t decide who should be lucky enough to get this present this year then why not buy the double layer box that has 56 chocolates! Then there will be more than enough to share with the whole family. That is the other great thing that I didn’t mention about this chocolate selection; there are 6 different box sizes to choose from ranging from 4 chocolates to 56. For me this Christmas selection has to make it into every household this year in some form or another.

3. Snuff: Discworld Novel 39 – £9.49

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a policeman taking a holiday would barely have had time to open his suitcase before he finds his first corpse. And Commander Sam Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch is on holiday in the pleasant and innocent countryside, but not for him a mere body in the wardrobe. There are many, many bodies and an ancient crime more terrible than murder. He is out of his jurisdiction, out of his depth, out of bacon sandwiches, occasionally snookered and out of his mind, but never out of guile. Where there is a crime there must be a finding, there must be a chase and there must be a punishment. They say that in the end all sins are forgiven. But not quite all…

4. 1Q84: Books 1 and 2 – £9

The events of the story take place in fictionalized 1984, with the first volume set between April and June, the second between July and September, and the third between October and December. The narrative is composed of two storylines that alternate by chapter. The book opens with Aomame’s perspective as she catches a taxi in Tokyo on her way to a work assignment, noticing that Janáček’s Sinfonietta is playing on the radio. When the taxi gets stuck in a traffic jam on the expressway, the driver suggests that she get out of the car and climb down an emergency escape in order to make her important meeting. Aomame makes her way to a hotel in Shibuya, where she poses as a hotel attendant in order to assassinate a hotel guest. She performs the murder with a tool that leaves almost no trace on its victim, leading investigators to conclude that he died a natural death.

5. The Magic of Reality: How we know what’s really true – From £10

Based on a Amazon review: “I am glad that Dawkins has decided to write a popular science book to include a younger audience. The clarity and humour with which he deftly expounds factual reality (is there any other kind), deserves to be accessible to all. I read the 265 pages of this book within 24 hours of having received it, not through lack of content, rather because the content was so logical, amusing and beautifully illustrated. Award winning Dave McKean should take some credit here. The Dali-esque depictions of imaginary creatures from other planets were some of my favourites. Pictures aside, if I find a book dull, I fall to sleep very quickly. Despite being familiar with much of the content, I was riveted.”

This range of kitchen accessories by Keith Brymer Jones manages to combine both an urban elegance and a country feel. I think that because he has managed to incorporate both of these elements I think that any of these items would look great in any kitchen. The graphic dial is large enough that you can read it from across the room if you are busy with another task. All you need to do is twist the top round to the allocated time and then just let go. 6. Doctor Indulgence – £15.40

This has to be the ultimate present this Christmas if you know a chocolate lover. Trust me I can say from experience that this is an amazing present. Not only is the chocolate good but it also comes in a ‘first aid’ tin. The chocolate has been made into plasters, thermometers, pills and even an emergency chocolate bar. Apparently this kit comes with a month’s worth of pills, although I’m not entirely sure mine lasted that long. This will be a great pick me up if you are feeling down and remember to always exceed the recommended dose!

I didn’t think that chocolate could get any better until I came across this gift. Now, not only can you enjoy the taste of delicious Belgium chocolate but you can mould it into different fun and exciting shapes. The makers of Magic Choc have a secret technique that enables the chocolate to still taste great but to also remain soft enough to manipulate. There will be lots of fun to be had making the chocolate into different animals or objects and then even more fun when you get to scoff the lot! To me this gift is the perfect blend of the traditional and the modern and because of that I think it would look great in any kitchen. It manages to combine style with nostalgia which is no mean feat. Let’s be honest who doesn’t love hearing the whistle of the kettle to signal that a cup of tea is imminent. This kettle combines a retro style with silicone and stainless steel, it may look like the kettle that you used to see at your Gran’s house but its modern features allow rapid boiling time and heat insulation. I think this is the perfect present for anyone who loves a nice hot drink.

This is the perfect gift if you know someone who loves cooking and at the same time also loves style. The head of the whisk actually looks like someone’s hair and even though it looks slightly unusual it is highly effective. The idea is that you take a survey, and then the t-shirt scientists determine the best shirt for you. In terms of a gift, you can either answer the survey and let the Hipstery send out a shirt, or you can send a gift voucher to the person you are buying the gift for and they can take the survey. This has to be the perfect gift for that “hard to buy for” lady in your life. 1. Bloccon – £11.99

What is a Bloccon do I hear you ask? Don’t worry I had to ask the same thing and now I can share my knowledge with you! It’s a slim line watering can that is designed for indoor plants. Apparently it has been created purely because it is interesting and different. It will look great in any modern household, either slotting in next to your cookbooks or on prominent display in your living room. Its name actually comes from combining the words ‘block’ and ‘icon’ so why not be a trend setter this Christmas and treat your favourite gardener to the Bloccon.

2. Apple Crate Planter – £39.99

I think this is the perfect gift for the person that has everything. It would look great in any home or garden and can be personalised with any message that you choose. Because of the personal message it is more than just a plant pot and can be used to represent an anniversary or special occasion. It can also be used for traditional plants, herbs or even keeping logs in by the fire. It is made from pine and is very sturdy so it will be able to withstand anything are countries weather can throw at it!

3. String in Tin – £6.99

I think that this is a tool that all serious gardeners can’t live without. No longer will they have to spend hours (ok well probably more like minutes) unravelling string because it will be kept in place in this handy tin. The tin is great quality and made from traditional materials so you know it’s going to last for more than just one season. It also looks stylish and comes with a ball of brown string and cutters so your gardener will have everything they need when they’re digging up their vegetables or pruning their roses. I think that this would make the perfect stocking filler for any serious (or ‘wanna be’ serious) gardeners.

4. ALLOTINABOX – £12.99

Do you know someone who would love to try their hand at growing their own vegetables but either don’t have the space or the knowledge? This is the perfect gift for them. ALLOTINABOX is great for all ages as well as it provides all the basics for growing vegetables from your own home. It comes with 5 packets of seeds, 5 plant tags and 10 metres of twine. It also comes with, and I think this is the best bit, an easy to use Grow Wheel to tell you when to sow and harvest your veg. I think that ‘Grow your Own’ is the new way forward, especially with all the rises in food prices, so why not stay ahead of the trend with this great gift.

5. Wormery – £7.00

Ok, so we all have the friend or relative who has everything and is always a nightmare to buy presents for. Well I think we have found a great solution to your annual problem! Why not buy them this ‘wormery’ which will make a big difference to the poor, marginalised women in India. Not only can you be pretty certain they won’t have been bought this before it doesn’t matter if they have because they will still be helping some of the poorest people in the world. I love gifts that make you feel good when you buy them and this is definitely one of those gifts.

Buy this here (From PresentAid.org)

6. Name an Orchid – £19

I think that this is a great present because not only are Orchids one of the prettiest flowers (well in my opinion anyway) but your chosen recipient will also have an Orchid named after them forever. I think being able to grow your own Orchid is great and this pack comes with everything you need to do that, including an A3 growing planner. This Orchid will be so much more special though as it will be personal to the person growing it. They will be able to nurture it and watch it grow knowing the whole time that it is personal to just them.

7. Caravan birdhouse – £14.99

Do you want to attract the best birds to your garden this year and show up your neighbours at the same time? Don’t stick with the usual (and a little bit boring) birdhouse; go for this brilliantly rustic caravan birdhouse. You don’t need to worry that it won’t be as sturdy as your standard birdhouse because it has a solid wooden casing and a sheet metal roof. I’m tempted to buy one just to see a little bird poke its head out of the door and I don’t even have a garden! So what are you waiting for spice up your garden this Christmas?

Buy this here (From Firebox.com)

8. Spot Weeding Brush – £12.99

In my opinion one of the most frustrating things about gardening is the weeds! You can spend many pain-staking hours making your garden weed-free only to see one pop up the next day. Now you can get rid of those pesky weeds without having to bend or kneel down. You also won’t waste lots of expensive weed killer for just one irritating weed. That is because this long-handled weeder can reach the weed without you having to bend down and it has a special non-drip valve that allows you to target individual weeds. Weeds don’t stand a chance anymore and your knees won’t have to suffer either!

Buy this here (From Presentsformen.co.uk)

9. Sky Lanterns – £9.99

Who does fireworks these days? Especially when you can set off traditional shaped lanterns into the sky instead and best of all these are eco-friendly so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. These traditional lanterns are colourful and easy to use and I personally think that they would make a great addition to any of the festivities that take place around this time of year. I think that they are more fun than fireworks and as they are easy to light then the whole family can get involved in the entertainment. All the reviews I have read about this product are positive, so why not give it a try?

Buy this here (From Amazon.co.uk)

10. Farmers Cottage Rotating Sphere Lounge – £7,195

Do you ever feel like you garden is missing something but can’t quite work out what it is? Well this may be the answer; this rotating sphere lounger is a new concept to garden seating. It can be used for so many different purposes including; eating, studying, relaxing and even camping. It can be rotated to find the best angle for the sun or to keep out a chilly breeze. Ok so it is a little bit expensive but you can get so much from it and you really will be the envy of all your friends. The only problem with getting one of these is that you might not want to spend any time in your house anymore!

Well, now you and your children can measure themselves against more than just your old self and other family members. Not only will your teenager enjoy having mountains of tasty treats but they might have to try and hide the jar from Dad! He will also charge your iPod or iPhone so he is more than just a cute package. Apparently he is very sturdy and a lot heavier than he looks so you don’t need to worry that he might break easily. Looking at the reviews he is not only great for teenagers but would look adorable in any room.

Ok, I am going to start by saying that this product actually managed to secure an investment on Dragon’s Den which I think is a pretty good start. They get to decide what gesture equals what command and it can store up to thirteen different commands! Now you will be able to see just how dramatic she can be.
